Ul'dah Suite

The inspiration is Ul'dah, and the palette is a sunset: oranges, purples and golds, from orange curtains and divans to purple hangings and gilt fittings. The aim was a home that feels luxurious but still cozy.

The main floor is the office of a textile merchant. A tall carved throne stands behind a curved desk, and the trade is on show around it — shelves stacked with cloth and spools of thread, baskets of rolled fabric, and a counter holding a weighing scale and a purse spilling gold coins. Red and gold detailing runs around the top of the walls, and overhead a coffered ceiling steps up to a recessed centre lit gold around the chandelier.

Along one wall, windows with luxurious purple curtains frame a view of the Goblet, a long cushioned seat beneath them. Bookshelves fill arched recesses, orange divans line the corners, and orange curtains are tied back over the small arched windows either side of the carved front doors.

Downstairs is a bed and bath, with a sitting area beside them, and angled walls create alcoves for the bed and the bath. The bed sits under a canopy of lattice arches hung with orange curtains, gilded screens behind it and potted orange trees either side. The bath sits on a marble floor behind coral curtains and purple swags, a wall of falling water glowing behind it and candles and folded towels around it. Between the two, a rock waterfall runs between glowing lamps, with floor cushions set in front of it.

The sitting area is by the stairs: low purple divans and floor cushions around a round table heaped with fruit, on a rug of red, blue and teal.

Outside, a stream runs over rocks through the garden, past a stone basin of floating flowers and a lamp of glowing blue crystals standing in the water.
